Job Title: Registered Nurse Job Specialty: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day 3x12-Hour (06:00 - 18:30) Guaranteed Hours: Not specified Experience: Minimum of 18 months required License: In-state or compact license required prior to start date Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS required Must-Have: Solid Neuro experience Job Description: - Work on a dynamic mixed acuity unit, providing both medical-surgical and progressive levels of care. - Areas of care include oncology, stroke, cardiac, gastrointestinal, and pulmonary. - Must handle mixed acuity patients with Medical Surgical (MS) patients in a 1:5-6 ratio and PCU patients in a 1:3-4 ratio. - Will manage drips including cardizem, amiodarone, and insulin. - Expected to care for unstable stroke patients and those requiring BiPap. - Must commit to working 2 out of the 3 major holidays. - Floating to different units or nearby affiliate hospitals is required. - Orientation requires 12 non-billable hours. - Locals not accepted except for certain exempted positions. - Travelers' university must be accredited by the ACEN or CCNE at the time of graduation. - Charting is done on Cerner. - Must adhere to compliance requirements and have two supervisor references.
